5 ways to increase battery life of Macbook


Today now-a-days we all use laptops. It’s very essential in our job. As we all are in digital world. So now I’m going to share with you some facts upon 5 ways to increase battery life of Mac book. The battery of Mac book is designed to maintain 80% of its main capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles. Different Mac batteries have different cycle counts. Apple Company offers a battery replacement service for all Mac book users. There is one year warranty for every device with built-in batteries. This 1 year warranty contains replacement coverage for a defective battery.
Actually, all batteries which are rechargeable, having limited life span are needed to be serviced or convert into recycled substance.  Lifespan will vary upon how the users will use their devices. As long as the battery is not in its last stage, there are many tips that will help you to make your battery more perfect.

Before improving battery performance, turn on battery percentage, that you could see battery charge level. To turn on the battery percentage, click on the battery icon on the menu bar and select show percentage

Hold the OPTION key on keyboard click on BATTERY ICON at the top of menu bar. There are four conditions regarding this:

NORMAL: The battery is functioning normally.

REPLACE SOON: The battery is functioning but less than the original.

REPLACE NOW: Functioning normally but less charge than the original.

SERVICE BATTERY: The battery isn’t functioning.

So, let’s start


1.TURN OFF WIFI AND BLUETOOTH:

 Bluetooth devices use “radio communication system”. To send data to other devices in small range we can use Bluetooth. To exchange data we have to turn on Bluetooth firstly. Sometime it drains the lifespan of Mac battery.
To turn off the Bluetooth we have to click on Bluetooth icon first which is in the upper right hand corner of the desktop.
Select Turn Bluetooth Off. The icon should now be greyed out. In other way, SELECT SYSTEM PREFERENCES>BLUETOOTH.
Then uncheck the box marked on.

WIFI is the other wonderful invention in our digital world. But it also consumes the life span of Mac battery.
To turn off WIFI we have to click on WIFI icon in the upper right hand corner of the desktop.
Then select Turn WIFI Off.  In other way, we can do this. OPEN SYSTEM PREFERENCE >NETWORK. Then uncheck the box marked Turn WIFI off.



2.DIM YOUR SCREEN &KEYBOARD BACKLIT: 

 Firstly you have to press F keys which help you to increase or decrease your screen’s brightness. The keys related to these are F1, F2, F14, and F15. F1 key and F2 key works on Macbooks and F14 and F15 works on desktop Macs. Low your screen brightness that’s comfortable for user’s eyes. As much as you will bright your display it will short your battery’s lifespan. If you want to work on battery power in a bright environment, you have to go to system preference>Display and uncheck the box for automatically adjust brightness.

A keyboard having backlit is a wonderful technology in digital technology. It helps you to type in dark room. But drain your battery. If you want to turn off keyboard backlit you can use F5 and F6 keys. F5 to turn off and F6 to turn back on.

You can also Switch on Dark Mode. It takes less battery to display black pixels than white.



3.KEEP CURRENT WITH SOFTWARE UPDATES: 

Staying update will help you get best life span of batteries. To check the updates, go to SYSTEM PREFERENCE>SOFTWARE UPDATE. Or install the updated app automatically. Apple software updates using their advanced energy saving technologies, so be sure that your Mac is using the latest version of macos. System should be up-to-date. Another way to update your system is, first click on Apple icon and select Software Update.



4.SHUT DOWN BACKGROUND APPS:

 Background apps drain out the life span of Mac battery.   You have to start closing the apps that you don’t needed at the moment. This will help you a lot. Firstly, click on battery icon which is in the menu bar. If there is no app using energy, then it will show you the message that no apps using significant energy.

The best way to uninstall apps, which apps can slow and cause problems on your Mac is the CleanMyMac X. First of all you have to download this app for free. Then install it. Then go to the uninstaller tab and erase the applications that you are sure that you don’t need.




5. USE ENERGY SAVER APP: 

 Battery saving solution is found in the Energy Saver app. Firstly you have to click on APPLE icon, then click on the SYSTEM PREFERENCE and select Energy Saver. Then turn on AUTOMATIC GRAPHICS SWITCHING. When possible turn on PUT THE HARD DISK(S) to sleep.

Mac batteries don’t last forever. Every time we are charging the batteries 100%. Apple has a full Mac models with their corresponding battery cycles count on their website.
